Join us for upcoming events, classes and programs at Jasper County Public Library! Most events are free and open to the public. Registration required where noted. Please view our Board Meeting Dates.

We often take pictures or shoot videos at library events to use in library publicity materials and on our website. Please view our policy.

Dress up as your favorite character and experience an afternoon of fun and magical Hogwarts actitivites, such as a sorting hat ceremony, discovering your patronus animal, have your wand pick YOU, try Butterbeer, etc. There will be a various opportunities for photos and there will be a prize for the best character costume. Registration is required to attend and can be done online or by visiting or calling the Wheatfield Library at 956-3774. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children, but when you register we just need the children's names. Space is limited- so do not delay your registration. This program is open to all ages, but younger children WILL need to be helped with many activitiies by a parent or other caregiver.

Starting in July we will begin celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter book series. Join us during the 3rd Saturday of the month for Harry Potter movie days.  On our first Saturday we'll show Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  During the intermission between movies we'll have trivia contests and/or a simple craft for 30 minutes. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Children under 8 will need to be accompanied by an adult or caregiver. Come for both, or just watch one movie, whatever works for you.

Join us as we read Winter People by Jennifer McMahon, an atmospheric mystery that is perfect to read on a cool, fall night. JCPL now offers two online services for downloadable content that you can access from home, and three apps tailored to user needs.

Adults and teens are invited to learn about Hoopla, Libby and OverDrive at our monthly computer workshop on Tuesday, October 30th. Times to choose from to attend are 2 & 6 pm; choose the time most convenient for you. 

This month we will be discussing these services for downloading eBooks, eAudio and more, and demonstrating how to stream these services via home video devices.
