Summer Reading Kick-Off Concert

Tuesday, June 5th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on the Lawn next to the Book-Drop

Rock the Library with your family during our evening concert performance by local rock band Edge of the Universe! Bring your favorite picnic blanket or lawn chair to settle in for some sweet rockin' music, and, while you're here, sign up for our Summer Reading Program. No matter what your age, we have a reading challenge for you! 

Available for all ages. Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult. Walk-ins welcome. Registration provided so you can receive a reminder email.

Baby & Me Storytime focuses on nursery rhymes and movement and is geared toward infants up to age 18 months. Parents and caregivers should be prepared to be actively involved in this storytime. Each Baby & Me Storytime is about 20 minutes long and concludes with time for babies to explore books and toys.

To ensure an enjoyable storytime experience for all families, please observe the following guidelines:
  • For the safety of infants participating in Baby & Me, familes are asked to keep older children that are attending the program at their side. Running is strictly prohibited. 
  • Keep casual conversations to a minimum and place cell phones on silent mode.
  • Strollers are not allowed in the storytime or meeting room. Baby carriers/car seats are acceptable.

R.E.A.D.® to the Dogs encourages children to practice their reading skills by reading to specially trained therapy dogs. Children who read 5 books to a dog receive a free book. This activity is provided through a partnership with Montgomery Pet Partners. No registration is required.
This program is intended for children who are reading. Children who are not yet reading may enjoy books in the children's area. If you need some new reading material, come to our Book Swap! Bring up to 3 books that you no longer want and swap them out for something new to read. If you don't have any books you want to swap, that's ok - we'll be playing board games and making ice-cream sundaes too!

Books to be swapped should be in useable condition (i.e. clean, not torn up, no pages missing) and be within the reading level of a 9 to 12 year old. Library staff reserve the right to reject any books not meeting these criteria.
