Family History research can be difficult for many individuals who know who their biological parents are. For adoptees, it can be even more difficult.

 

Join the MCMLS Genealogy department for a special program gear towards   adoptees or researchers who suspect or know they have adoptees back in their family tree. We will cover some of the legal hurdles that need to be cleared to discover records for recent adoptees. We’ll also cover the history of adoption and the orphanage system in the United States, as well as provide some tips and    resources you can use to help discover the records for the adoptees in your Family Tree.

Looking to log some volunteer hours for your college resumes?  Then join YAAC, the teen school year volunteer organization at South Regional Library.  Teens are responsible for attending a monthly mandatory meeting each month where they can pick and choose which library events that they would like to volunteer at each month.  The hours logged during each monthly meeting and volunteering at library events will be recorded and counted toward each teen's total volunteer hour tally.

All monthly madatory meetings take place in the 1st floor lobby meeting room and start at 4:30PM
