Let’s Talk About It!: Muslim Journeys - American Stories Kick-Off Event
Wednesday, Jan. 29 ,7:00 pm
Loudoun County Public Library was selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association as one of 125 libraries and state humanities councils across the country – and the only library in Virginia – to host a reading and discussion series titled Let’s Talk About It: Muslims Journeys - American Stories. The Library has partnered with university scholars, cultural institutions, and the local Muslim community to bring a series of educational and informative conversations about the role that Islamic culture has both here at home and abroad. The aim of this project is to promote understanding of, and mutual respect for, people with diverse histories, cultures and perspectives.
For teens & adults.
For more information about the project, please visit library.loudoun.gov/muslimjourneys. To find details of the programs, go to library.loudoun.gov /Events and search Let's Talk About It: Muslim Journeys.
Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH); American Library Association, George Mason University’s Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies, Oxford University Press; Twin Cities Public Television; Carnegie Corporation of New York and Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
