Shake things up and get out of a reading rut with Groundbreaking Reads, the 2013 Adult Summer Reading Program at the Verona Public Library from June 7 through July 26. Adults ages 18 and older can read and enter to win a new NOOK Simple Touch™ with GlowLight eReader, donated by the Friends of the Verona Public Library. To enter, complete an entry form for each book you read or listen to between June 7 and July 26, and submit it at the Reference Desk. No other registration is needed. A drawing for the NOOK will be held on July 29, and you need not be present to win.

The library will be marching in the Verona Hometown Days parade this year - come show you love the library and walk with us! All ages welcome. If you are interested, please register and include your email so we can keep you updated on meet location and other specifics as the event gets closer. The parade line-up will start at approximately 10:30am and the parade is scheduled to begin at noon.

Early Bird Special meets 5:30-6:30 am
Get fit and shape up by joining the Verona Public Library Boot Camp. Boot Camp runs for six weeks from June 10 through July 19. Classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the library parking lot. Choose either the morning Early Bird Special program from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. or the evening Happy Hour Group from 6 to 7 p.m.
Get maximum fitness results with this blend of strength, functional, and cardio training. Each session is a different workout, with progressive exercises to accommodate your fitness level. Testing allows you to see your improvement. Training will be led by Ryan Berndt from Hybrid Fitness. Registration is required and is limited to 20 participants per each six-week program. Participants must be 18 or older.

Revamp your grocery shopping and learn how to save time and money, and make healthy food choices. Join a representative from Fit Fresh Cuisine on Tuesday, June 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Miller & Sons Supermarket in Verona for a tour that will give you a fresh start with food. Learn how to read food labels; make fast, fresh, delicious, and affordable meals; and use a cheat sheet grocery list.
