Bluey's backyard has seen soooo many parties, so this summer the Pomfret Library is kicking off Summer Reading with a Bluey Bash on our new big blue back deck! Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and then join in all the Bluey snacks, games, and crafts. If you stay til the end, you'll even get to play Pass The Parcel: Lucky's Dad's Rules! Of course we'll have a Keepy Uppy session and Dance Mode.
Dress up is always encouraged for kids and grown ups (If you know Bluey, then you know how those parents interact with the kids). This event is open to all age children, we'll be making it as all age friendly as possible! Registration is preferred so that we can get the right amount of party supplies. Registration starts June 1st!
Want to try an instrument that is fun and easy to play? Join Julie Stepanek as she shows the fundamentals of ukulele playing. No experience necessary. Ukuleles provided.

Julie Stepanek lives in a forest in western Massachusetts where she raised a son and taught herself how to play the ukulele. She has been teaching and making music at libraries, senior centers and preschools throughout New England for the past twelve years.

Wednesdays, July 10, 17, 24, and 31 10 am-12 noon
Make a record of the plants, animals and insects that you see on your summer travels – or in your own back yard! Artist Nora Robbins will help you develop your drawing and watercolor painting skills, and offer guidance in journal layouts, use of creative text boxes, and conceptual lettering techniques. All necessary materials will be supplied (although you can bring your own if you prefer). Group size is limited to 10 adults/young adults. Please plan to attend all four sessions. Sponsored by Friends of Pomfret Public Library.
Big kids like to be read to too! Time for our 2nd annual Big Kid Story Time! Join us for a fun story and craft, maybe we'll even have some games and snacks. Bring one of your stuffy friend to sit with and then when it's time for you to go home, you can tuck your stuffy in for a secret library sleepover!
NO HUMANS allowed at the stuffy sleepover! Even after Ms. Heather gets them settled with everything they need, she has to leave too. Don't worry though, the Giant Guardian Squishmallow will be there to watch over their mischief and keep them out of too much trouble.
Registration required for supplies as well as a list of how many stuffies will be spending the night. Geared towards ages 5-10yrs, but younger/older kids are welcome as well if they're up for it! The story and craft will just be a little more involved than our weekly stories.
