Celebrate the life and career of Lucille Ball. From humble origins, she rose to become one of the most powerful women in Hollywood and the first woman to run a major studio. She also entertained us, and remains one of the best comediennes ever seen. I Love Lucy has virtually never been off the air since it began in 1951 and established Lucille Ball as a major television star. Join us as we discover why we still love Lucy! Formed in 1863 amidst protests over the proposed implementation of a military draft, the Thirty-third New Jersey had a controversial beginning that led to the unit being dubbed “The Mutinous Regiment.” Unlike most New Jersey regiments, the 33rd served in what was considered the west, taking part in the Atlanta Campaign as well as Sherman’s March to the Sea. After their difficult start, the officers and men of the 33rd served with distinction in these and other important campaigns. The program will describe the regiment’s founding and provide an overview of their service. Sponsored by Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum.

Join celebrated author, Allison Pataki as she discusses her new book, Finding Margaret Fuller.  In Finding Margaret Fuller, Pataki takes readers on a trans-Atlantic journey in this winning fictional biography of Transcendentalist writer Margaret Fuller (1810–1850). Join art historian, Sylvia Laudien-Meo, for a presentation & discussion about Dorothea Lange’s photography, with a special focus on its relationship to language – writing found in the environment, but also captions or descriptions added in various publications.  After an early career as portrait photographer Lange dedicated her life to documenting life during the Great Depression and WWII.  She very carefully composed her thought provoking images while always being dedicated to being truthful.
