Friends of the Libra
Monday, Dec. 17, 5:30pm
Join staff and volunteers to discuss upcoming events, library happenings, and more in support of the library. The purpose of the Friends organization is to help provide fun and educational programs for all ages, purchase library materials, and support the library overall. We accomplish this through advertising, fundraisers, and volunteer work.
You don't have to be a Friend of the Library to attend!  But if you'd like to be, Friends memberships are $10 each year. Members may shop the early bird book sale each year before it's open to the public, and receive newsletters. Click HERE to fill out a membership form, or stop by the library to pick one up from the front desk during open hours.

Anyone is welcome to attend.  Northland Pioneer Grange is a non profit organization that promotes community service and agricultural issues and projects.

Movie Home Alone

Come down to the Palmer Libray for a fun, interactive engineering challenge...can you build it??  For families and children ages 4-12. Free. No registration required.

Join us for winter break activities at the Palmer Library!  Come meet a live owl. AK Wild Bird Rescue is bringing one of their bird ambassadors to visit and teach. All ages are welcome.

Baby Lap Sit 0-2
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 10 am
Ages 0 through 2...Join us for Baby Lap Sit, geared toward babies ages 0-2 and their adult.  Baby Lap Sit lasts about half an hour and includes stories, interactive learning, and songs.  This month's activity flyer is on our website... pplak.org/storytime
2 Year Old Storytime
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 11 am
Ages 2 through 3....Come make a mess with us! We aren't afraid to pull out the glue, paint, or yes, even glitter!  Our goal is to create a warm, friendly atmosphere where kids can explore, interact, and learn.

Story Times last about 45 minutes and include stories, songs, interactive learning, and a craft/activity, all geared toward the respective age groups. This is a great time for kids to develop preschool skills like sitting still, working in a group setting, taking turns, and using tools like scissors, glue, etc.

Foreign Film

Join us for our free monthly Foreign & Indy Film showing. We provide the popcorn. Bring your own drink. Foreign and Independent films may contain adult content not suitable for children.  More information is available at pplak.org/foreign-film.
