Students are encouraged to come from 10am - 1pm, and the general public is invited from 2 pm - 4 pm!

Professional comic artist/illustrator Cara McGee will lead teens through the process of making a comic book from start to finish. In this introduction workshop, teens will learn the basics of writing scripts, designing a character, drawing thumbnails, and finally how to create finished comic pages!

Enjoy a story, songs, rhymes, and playtime while building essential early literacy skills! This program is for babies and toddlers 2 years old and younger and their caregivers.

Bring your in-progress knitting, crochet, paper craft, etc. to Craft-In! We will work on our projects in a fun and collaborative environment with other makers. We will also have materials available to make a different craft each month, which will be announced on our Facebook page the week before!

Get moving with the Belding Center of Dance in this all-ages jazz program! Participants should wear comfy clothes they can move around in, including socks (feel free to bring jazz shoes or ballet slippers if you have them). Participants will receive a take-home craft at the end of the program! Sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Join our monthly writer's group! This group is open to all experience levels and genres. Participants will share writing interests, and discuss and workshop their writing, so feel free to bring your work in progress!

This take and make was so popular that we're doing it again! Make a unique painted canvas for your space using acrylic paint and paint markers. You will receive all materials to make either a modern floral or abstract painting. Please note that preferential treatment will be given to those who were on the waiting list last time.

Join author Mike Fores for an entertaining and informative presentation about Michigan's iconic five-mile span, the Mackinac Bridge. Since opening in 1957, it has been struck by lightning and hit by an airplane and a ship--yet still stands as perhaps the safest five miles of I-75. Hear the stories, see the photos and meet the people who have made this engineering wonder a symbol of the state of Michigan.
