Help us Celebrate Reading by Recognizing Banned Books Week and Creating Tiny Art! Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. It was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. Banned Books Week highlights the freedom for all to seek and express ideas and information.
In this program we'll highlight some banned books and give you materials to create a tiny masterpiece. You can pick from a variety of materials to decorate a tiny 4 by 4 inch easel. Help us make a display at the library and then bring your artwork home afterwards.
