Chapter Chatters Boo
Wednesday, Jul. 18, 3:00 - 4:00 pm
This book club for tweens meets once a month, on the third Wednesday, for a book discussion, activities, and snacks. Snacks and drinks are provided. Contact the library to get a copy of the book. Ages: 9-12. No registration needed. Check our website for book titles.

Join us as we explore and learn about Nature with hands-on activities, stories, and crafts. Grades: 1 & 2. Registration is required register once for all three sessions.

Ameren Gas and Electric presents Louie the Lightning Bug! He’ll tell kids how to be safe around electricity and gas and teach them about the science of electricity and how to stay safe at home and outside. All Ages.

Brown Bag It Friday:

The Picture Book Show brings to life some of the latest and greatest in children’s literature. Enjoy a fast-paced mix of stories, puppets, and audience participation lovingly adapted from contemporary children’s picture books. AGES: Everyone! 

Join us every Friday in June & July for Brown Bag It Friday, a free, family friendly show beginning at 12:30 pm. Come early, save your spot, and enjoy lunch under the trees in Hannah’s Reading Garden. Check the library’s Facebook page for weather updates.

We added a second group! Do you like theater and Harry Potter? Help us bring the story “The Wizard and the Hopping Pot” from The Tales of Beedle the Bard to life. With Reader’s Theater we will practice reading skill, building your confidence & dramatic oral expression, fluency & teamwork. Memorization is not required, but students will need to be able to read comfortably aloud in front of a group. Final performance is July 31 from 6:00 to 6:15 during “A Day at Hogwarts.” Grades: 4-6. Registration Required. Register once for all four sessions - July 16, 23, 30 & 31.

Cards for Hospitaliz
Monday, Jul. 23, 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Come in and design handmade cards that will brighten a child’s day. All supplies will be provided and cards will be sent from the library. Grades: 4-6. Registration Required.

Baby Bounce
Tuesday, Jul. 24, 9:45 - 10:15 am

This special story time is for babies 0-18 months old. Enjoy simple rhymes and songs to share together. Ages: Birth-18 months

Tuesday, Jul. 24, 1:30 - 2:00 pm

Explore the fun things you can do with this awesome piece of tech that turns anything into a keyboard (like playing fruit and veggie instruments)! Grades: 1-3. Registration Required.

Science Fun Series -
Wednesday, Jul. 25, 10:30 - 11:00 am
Explore the science of bubbles by creating your own bubble solution, making bubble snakes, and giant bubbles. Please wear clothes that can get messy! Age Group: 3-6 yrs old. Registration Required – register for each session individually; join us for one, some or all.

Water Science - Enjoy making ice from a water bottle, and mixing oil and water. Please wear clothing that can get messy. Grades: 3-6. Registration Required. Register for each "Got Science" session individually; join us for one, some or all.
YouTube’s Got
Wednesday, Jul. 25, 3:00 - 4:00 pm

Come enjoy snacks while watching videos of up and coming YouTube musicians, discuss likes and dislikes of each, and vote on your favorite. Grades: 7-12. Registration Required.

Tinker Tots
Thursday, Jul. 26, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Drop in anytime between 10:00am and 12:00pm with your child, age 2-4, for a parent-led sensory program that helps develop basic coordination skills children need. These hands-on art projects involve interesting textured materials provided by the library.  Use materials such as stamps, watercolors, chalk, play dough, and much more. Invite your friends for a play date and enjoy the fun. Ages: 2-4.
