Join us for upcoming events, classes and programs at Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library! All events are free and open to the public. Registration required where noted.

Little Builders
Monday, Apr. 29, 11 am
Toddlers and preschoolers are welcome to join our Little Builders Program where they will play with building blocks to help them learn and develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and more.
Preschool Story Time
Tuesday, Apr. 30, 10:30 am
Enjoy stories & songs with your child in this engaging and interactive story time that lasts about 30 minutes. Stay & Play will be from 11:00AM-11:30AM and it is not necessary that you attend story time first. This program is designed for ages 3-5 years old, but children of all ages and their siblings & caregivers are welcome.
Homework Help
Tuesday, Apr. 30, 4 pm - 6 pm
Does your child need help with their homework? Then bring them by our Homework Help, where screened volunteers can assist grades 1st-8th with all subjects. This service is free and is first come, first served. Please sign in at children's reference desk.
 
Teen Craft Hour
Tuesday, Apr. 30, 4 pm
The last Tuesday of every month will be teen craft hour. Teens will join us for a new and exciting craft every month.
Chess Club
Wednesday, May 1, 3 pm
Want to play chess with others? Come play for fun, practice, and learn.

Recommended for ages 6 and older.
Thursday, May 2, 10:30 am
Join us for about 30 minutes of stories, songs and activities on Thursday mornings at 10:30 am. After storytime, we will play for about half an hour. This mellower storytime is designed for our smallest friends and their caregivers--siblings are welcome, too! Sponsored by Stockton/San Joaquin County Public Library.
Homework Help

The Animal Book Club
Thursday, May 2, 4:30 pm
Read to a rescued farm animal like a chicken or duck, from Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary! This gives children a chance to meet an animal they may not normally see, and practice their reading in a relaxed environment. Each meeting with be on the 1st Thursday of the month.
Computer Class @Trok
Friday, May 3, 10:30 am to 11:30 am
This class is for adults who need more confidence in using a mouse and keyboard, or have questions about the basics of using a computer. You are welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet, but we also provide laptops to use during the class. No registrations.
Lego Club
Friday, May 3, 3:30 pm
Show off your skills and let your imagination transform legos into masterpiece creations.If you'd like to share your work of art, please have the Librarian take a picture and it will be displayed on the TV in the children's room.

Join us on May the 4th at the Troke Library for a fun family craft day! Families will be making Star Wars themed crafts.
Frozen Dinosaur Eggs
Monday, May 6, 11 am
This activity is perfect for little problem solvers! What are the best tools and methods to free the dinosaurs from the ice eggs? Perfect for sensory and science play.
This activity is best for preschoolers and toddlers ages 2-5.
Movie Matinee- Minio
Monday, May 6, 4 pm
Kevin, Bob, Stuart, Otto, and the other Minions help 12-year-old Gru build a lair and weapons so he can commit a spectacular crime and impress the Vicious 6. Gru has been wanting to join the supervillains' organization for a long time, and when its leader Wild Knuckles was ousted, he was granted an interview by the remaining members. This movie is rated PG and runs for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Complimentary snacks will be provided, while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
