We're celebrating National Pet Week with a fun art activity for the whole family. Local artist Linda Knoll will lead a workshop where participants can draw caricatures or intentionally draw their pets badly. Bring a picture of your pet for reference. Transform your beloved pets into a timeless work of art...maybe. 

All materials will be provided. This program is suggested for ages 8 and up. Registration is required for each individual participating. 

This event will take place in the Modesto Library Maker Space.

Independent readers up to age 12 are invited to practice their reading skills with the special Read to a Dog program at the Modesto Library. This program is designed to help children gain confidence in their reading skills by reading aloud to certified therapy dogs. Sign-ups start on April 29, 2024. Children will have the opportunity to build creations using LEGO® blocks, Magnetic Building Tiles, Bristle Builders, DUPLO, and more, which will then be displayed in the library. Building encourages motor skills, creativity, teamwork, patience, problem-solving, and, most importantly, fun! This program is designed for all ages; however, children 4 and under must have direct supervision from parents or adult guardians.

Join us after school on Wednesdays in April for a fun maker program that will teach kids STEAM* subjects in a hands-on environment! This week, kids can imagine and build their own designs out of cardboard and building blocks and make art using a 3D pen!
