Tech Tutor Tuesdays

Starting Tuesday, September 19th, stop in at the library for all things tech!  Adults and seniors can get help with laptops, smartphones, apps, email, and more from our Tech Tutor!  Bring your questions and device to join our Tech Tutor Tuesdays help sessions.

Homeschool Hangout

Tuesday, Sep. 26, 2:00pm
Join us on Tuesdays from 2-4, September through April for Homeschool Hangout! Open to any homeschool/cyberschool student. Each month will have its own theme with guided activites, resources and occasional guest speakers.
Pre-registration is appreciated for planning purposes- even if you cannt attend every Tuesday, please pre-register through the link below so we have an overall list of participants.
Banned Book Club

Tuesday, Sep. 26, 4pm
Teens age 14-18 are invited to join us on the 4th Tuesday each month at 4pm for Banned Book Club.  Banned Book Club focuses on Young Adult books that have been challenged or banned throughout time and place. Each month, we'll read a different book, explore the reasons behind why it has been challenged or banned, and discuss our own opinions of the book.
Registration and a library membership required to reserve a copy of the book.
Storytime

Storytime is a weekly 30-45 minute program for children ages 3+ with adult supervision required.  Miss Katie will lead the Storytime with songs, puppets, a story and a simple craft. Miss Katie does take seasonal breaks from storytime for planning purposes – so please check our calendar for more information!  During the summer, Summer Storytime is open to children of all ages. 
​Registration is not required but appreciated for planning purposes!
HomeWork Help Wednes

Starting Wednesday, September 20th, stop in at the library for FREE tutoring!  Students in grades K through 12 are invited to take advantage of our free, no-strings-attached tutoring sessions funded by the 2023 United Way Community Impact Fund.  Get help with writing papers, research, homework, or general tutoring.

Weigh to Go Wednesda

Meet up with others on their weight loss and healthy living journeys ecah week for talk, tips, and much needed support.  Individuals age 18 and over are welcome to join Weigh to Go Wednesday each week at 6pm, with weigh-ins starting at 5:30pm.  

No registration needed!  Please feel free to stop in during a meeting to see what it's all about!  If you'd like to join the group, you can do so at that time!
Library Playgroup

Feel like you're stuck at home with the kids? Every Thursday at 1:00 pm, parents and caregivers are welcome to sit together and chat (with other adults!) while their children play, learn and socialize in the library's children's area. Ages 0+
Free, no membership or registration required.
Family-Friendly Okto

Thursday, Sep. 28, 5-8pm
Join us for our 2nd annual Family Friendly Oktoberfest on Thursday, September 28th!  We will having Oktoberfest favorite foods and treats available for purchase, free crafts and activities including scavenger hunt with prizes, ancestry and heritage display, raffles, storytime at 5pm, and live music starting at 6pm.

Free and open to the public!

Registration is NOT required; however, it is helpful for planning purposes PLUS you will have the option to sign up for an automatic email or text reminder!
 
Littles Lapsit

Join Miss Katie on Fridays at 11:30am for a special lapsit storytime with our littlest library friends.  A short story will be read by Miss Katie as parents/caregivers hold their little ones on their laps and follow along with their own copies of the book.  Exposure to book handling, following along with words, and reading aloud helps garner early literacy skills and promote building a strong vocabulary from birth.

Open to children ages 0 to 2 and their caregivers.  Registration is not required but is appreciated for planning purposes! Feel free to come as you can!
Friday Night Game Ti

Hang out with us in the Makerspace area on Friday nights!  Play video games, board games, do crafts, anything you want!  Free and open to all ages (especially teens!) Sponsored by Ford City Public Library.
Yarn Collectors

Do you knit or crochet? Have you always wanted to learn? Meet up with this knitty group AM or PM! Learn, work on your own project, or work together to benefit the community.  This program is free, and walk-ins are always welcome to join.
