This workshop will explore the link between these 3 focusing on the risk factors that trigger anger as a response and addiction as a solution when there is no understanding of the feelings underlying the anger and the lack of life skills to reduce the risk of addiction.

This program is for teens and will be presented by Teens from New Hope Foundation who will discuss their personal experiences with the disease of addiction.
Lawrence Hogan Ph.D., Professor of History, Union County College, presents the history of Negro League baseball from 1930 through 1948 at America’s most historic ballpark, Yankee Stadium. His focus will be on the historic opening of the Stadium to Negro League play on July 5, 1930, for a doubleheader that is arguably the most significant game ever played at the fabled Yankee Stadium. An array of exhibit and video material will enrich your experience.

Learn the warning signs of gang affiliation; why kids join gangs; brief history of gangs; gang markings -colors, symbols, and clothing as gang identifiers. Gangs in schools and popular culture. Gang graffiti, paraphernalia and language. Advice for parents and teens on avoiding gangs.

This speaker will give you the tools to prepare your daughter or son for that moment of decision when a friend, a classmate, ora group at a party offers them a drink, a joint, a snort, or a pill to get high. Presenter: Joseph A. Califano, Jr. is founder and chairman of the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. Mr. Califano has held various United States Government postions and served from 1977-1979 as U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare, where he launched the nation's anti-smoking campaign. As well as an author, he has been a faculty member at Columbia University, a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and currently serves on the boards for several profit and non-profit organizations.
