Students will improve their chess abilities, as well as develop strategic thinking skills, foster good sportsmanship, improve concentration, build self-confidence, and have fun! Get ready to explore a special creature of the sea!
Children in grades 1 to 3 are invited to join Miss Laura to learn about sea turtles and make a craft! Using paper bowls, paint, googly eyes, glue, construction paper and markers, we will create a cute sea turtle decoration, all while learning about this majestic sea creature!
Note: Please register for each child individually. Ocean Explorers Club will be outside when weather permits. Otherwise, it will be held in the Chase Room. We will do our best to inform everyone if we will move inside as early as possible. The use of masks indoors is encouraged but not mandatory.

Children in grades K through 3rd are invited to join Miss Mia to learn about octopuses. We will read a story about the life an octopus. Then, children will learn to sew a button and a hand overcast stitch to create a felt octopus to take home. Finally, we will learn about the natural defenses of an octopus.
This activity will be held outside at the picnic tables so please bring a blanket or chairs for sitting. In the event of inclemental weather, we will be in the Chase Room. Masks are optional.

In this program, we'll be featuring animals that spend some of their time in the water (some possible visitors: alligator, frog, snake, turtle or other surprise guests!). We'll discuss how animals interact with, use and depend on water OR survive without it. Join us for a fun, fascinating and educational look at some of the amazing creatures with whom we share our world and explore the endless possibilities that exist when you "L.E.A.P. Into Wildlife"!
