Celebrate local talent at the Library's Local Author Fair!

Join us outside on the library portico for an inspiring morning with local authors. This event is a wonderful opportunity for community members to connect with authors, discover their fascinating works, and hear their journeys to becoming published.

You’ll find a delightful mix of books available for purchase and signing, including children, teen, and adult titles.

Patterson now has a Nintendo Switch! In addition to the Switch, there will be board games, puzzles, and more! Refreshments will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Teens, join us as we watch anime and make a fun craft! This month we will be watching Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai (TV-14).
Ages 12-19

Join us for a day when kids ages 10 – 17 can sell their crafts on the Modesto Library Portico! Kids and Teens will learn about pricing, advertising, customer service, handling money, and other aspects of running a small business.

Space for crafters is limited! The pre-registration list opens on Sept. 1, and crafters must pre-register by Sept. 30.
Family members or a small number of friends may participate together if they choose, but each crafter must register individually. 
A responsible adult must accompany children under 14 and remain present during the craft fair.

Dive into the world of adventure, storytelling, and imagination! Learn the basics needed to become a Game Master (GM) for table top role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. 

Teens, let’s find out if you are the ultimate anime fan! It’s time to put your anime knowledge to the test and compete against fellow fans for prizes as a team or individually. We will use the free Kahoot! app for this trivia event. Each team may have between one and four players. All teams must have a smartphone or tablet capable of downloading the Kahoot! app. Light snacks will be provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Modesto Library .

Love Pokémon? Join us to meet others who share your passion! Hang out and feel free to trade or battle on your Nintendo Switch, bring your trading cards for a friendly game, hunt for shinies in Pokémon GO, and more! All ages welcome; children 4 and under must have direct adult supervision.
