Bestselling author Stephen Spignesi presents: George Washington’s 30 Ways to be Polite in an Impolite World

While in his teens, George Washington copied into a notebook “100 Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation” that he found in a set of rules written by French Jesuits in 1595.  This lecture looks at 30 of those rules which can be considered particularly relevant, augmented by a contemporary interpretation of their meaning.  There will also be a slideshow and Q &A.

Stephen Spignesi, New York Times bestselling author and retired Practitioner in Residence at the University of New Haven, writes extensively about popular culture and history.
