Genealogy & Local History Room—Central Library

The world of family history research can be riddled with problems. Are you not sure which of the four John Stevens living in the community was your ancestor? Does your great-grandma have two different “certified” death certificates? What are some of your options when you hit the proverbial “brick wall in your research?”

Join Genealogy Librarian Carl Smith for a hands-on workshop on how to evaluate sources. Come learn how to extract the most information that you can from important record types, find new leads, and deal with conflicting evidence you may encounter in your research!

Registration is required and space is limited. Please contact the Genealogy department at 936-788-8363 x6249, in  person, or online to register!
