Six Women and the Black Experience in Hattiesburg, 1950-2018
Wednesday, Feb. 27, 6:00pm
Join us for a panel discussion of two on-going projects that examine the African America Experience in the Hattiesburg community between 1950 and 2018. Two of our six panelists will discuss the memoirs they are compiling about their school experiences and segregation. Another two panelists--current Hattiesburg High School students--are participants in USM's Oral History project, working to preserve the stories of those who came up before them in the community. The other panelist and the moderator are historians who research civil rights and local history in the American South.
