Gone Fishing!

Well, not really! but I am on vacation, actually a stay-vacation, a bit of time to recoup and hopefully just relax. While away my blogging is on hiatus unless I get totally bored; doubtful as I have all kinds of books to read and little projects to accomplish. As I'm certain I will have some free time, I'd love to hear from you if there's something or somewhere you've recently visited in Connecticut or close proximity (including good restaurants) that I shouldn't miss. Though I can check ctnow.com for and The Chronicle for upcoming events, there's nothing like a personal recommendation.

Like Arnold Schwarzenegger"s famous line in The Terminator...I'll be back! and look forward to chatting with all of you. In the meantime, Happy Reading!

If you don't mind driving a couple of hours each way, I can definitely recommend a daytrip to include lunch at one of the wonderful restaurants at the Culinary Institute of America...and then, if you have the time and/or inclination, a quick visit to the FDR home/library or the Vanderbilt estate. If you want to stick closer to home, my husband and I also love spending the day in the Stonington/Mystic area, with lunch at S&P Oyster Company...they have the best views in town...

Thanks for posting! I do appreciate it. I am reading and enjoying that time so much. I'm also cooking a bit, made chicken chili, chicken garlic stir fry, pizza, and stuffed peppers; oh my waist line! Love the Stonington area even this time of year. Have never been to S&P Oyster Company. I'll put that on my list though oysters themselves are not on my menu (highly allergic, though I love them). Am thinking about heading to Crazy Burger in Narrangansett. Great veggie burgers, a favorite of Megan & I.
