YALSA and readergirlz.com have teamed up to present an amazing month long experience to celebrate YALSA's Teen Read Week. The readergirlz divas will be hosting 31 authors for 31 days during the month of October! Readergirlz across the world will be able to chat nightly at their group forum with a different YA author each evening in October (5 PM PST/8 PM EST). 31 Flavorite Authors kicks off on October 1st with Meg Cabot. Check out some of Meg's newest books for YAs or go to her MySpace page to learn more about her.

September 15th marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. CCPL owns Spanish-language versions of many favorite children’s books, including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, Click, Clack, Moo, and Goodnight Moon, as well as children's DVDs and music. - Debut Author: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
- Best General Fiction: The Road by Cormac McCarthy
- Best Audio: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
- Best Children's Picture Book: Flotsam by David Wiesner
- Best Children's Chapter/Middle Grade Book: The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick
- Best Teen/Young Adult Book: Sold by Patricia McCormick
