Reel Reads: Nim's Island

Nim's Island, starring Abigail Breslin, Jody Foster, and Gerard Butler, opens in movie theatres this Friday.  Based on Wendy Orr's 2001 novel, the movie tells the story of Nim, a young girl who inhabits an isolated island with her scientist father. When her father leaves her alone, Nim, who is schooled in the ways of jungle life, is delighted to be on her own with her animal friends, but when she loses contact with her father, she will need courage and help from a new e-mail friend to save the day.  Nim's adventures continue in the sequel, Nim at Sea.
