Children's author Lynne Berry will visit the Union Township branch of the Clermont County Public Library on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 3 p.m. Ms. Berry will present her books through an interactive story time.

Ms. Berry has a Ph.D. in cell biology, but says "I left the world of petri dishes and microscopes in 1997, to write for children. What a happy choice!" Titles by Lynne Berry are Duck Skates, The Curious Demise of a Contrary Cat, and Duck Dunks.

The Clermont County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees recently presented Holly Varley, CCPL Collection Development Manager, with copies of their latest children's literature book Fantastic Farm Machines by Cris Peterson. See the day-to-day business of growing and harvesting crops. This book explores twelve big pieces of machinery. Request This Book

The Friends of the Milford-Miami Twp. Branch will be holding a used book sale on Friday, October 27, 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. You will find great deals on used books, puzzles and audio/visual materials for both adult and children. All proceeds will go to support the Library.

To celebrate Teen Read Week, the Library is challenging Teens ages 11-19 to Get Active @ Your Library. Beginning October 16, teens who complete five challenges by October 21 will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card. All teens who participate will have their name entered into a drawing for a free shake from Steak-N-Shake.

Special events are also being planned at your local branch for the week such as duct tape craft tables, Anime groups and pizza tasting.
