Well, the news from last night's Board of Trustees meeting is bleak - library branch hours will be reduced to just 8 a day & 24 employees will be cut. 

The cuts come as a direct result of the shaky economy, coupled with a reduction in anticipated funding on both the state and local level.

The change in hours will become effective August 3rd, while employees will be cut beginning Thursday, July 2, 2009.

There's still time to contact Governor Strickland to voice your support for libraries. The Governor's proposed cuts to library funding will create the need for further cuts to be made to staff & services.
