Just finished reading...

Dead Dancing Women by Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli.  When Emily Kincaid gives up her newspaper job in Ann Arbor, and moves north to the isolated woods of  northern Michigan, she is looking only for some peace and quiet. Her idyllic new life is suddenly brought to an end by a severed head in her garbage can and the sudden appearance of her ex-husband and his newest girlfriend.  And then there's her developing friendship with Dolly Wakowski, a local cop who manages to drag Emily into trying to solve the murders that are suddenly occuring all around them. Buzzelli's gallery of quirky characters and her comic relief might appeal to fans of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. The library also has the sequel, Dead Floating Lovers, in its collection.
