Angeline Fowl has been infected by a fairy plague and has only days, maybe hours, to live. The only known cure comes from the silky sifika lemur. Artemis sold the last of the endangered silky sifika lemur to an extinctionist group four years ago when he was ten years old. Now his mother will die unless he can go back in time and save the lemur. Artemis calls on (and manipulates) Captain Holly Short and demon No. 1 to help him with his quest. What seems like a simple mission turns into a typical Fowl mess. Fourteen year old Artemis has several enemies to outsmart, including his own 10-year-old self and the evil fairy Opal Koboi. To complicate matters, Holly gives Artemis a kiss, leaving both uncertain how they feel about the other. The author, Eoin Colfer, keeps you in suspense throughout this fast paced action packed race against time to save a life (and maybe the world). The Time Paradox is a must read for Artemis Fowl fans.
This cat fantasy, the third book in the Warriors: Power of Three series (the third series in the Warriors series), has wild cats from Thunder Clan traveling to the mountains to help a mountain dwelling tribe from which a few of their cats had been banished. Jaypaw and several of the other young apprentices are allowed to go with the experienced cats on this journey. Jaypaw is trying to figure out how he and his siblings fit into the mysterious prophecy only he knows about. The cat characters were well developed and the plot was engaging, and even without reading the previous 14 books in the Warriors series the story was great. Teens of all ages will enjoy this book and series.
