Digital Collection More iPod Friendly

Upgrade to the new version of the OverDrive Media Console, the software you use to download audiobooks from Wright Library's Digital Collection at the Ohio eBook Project, and enjoy even more titles on your Apple® devices, such as the iPod.  Once limited to MP3 format audiobooks, iPod users can now download and transfer to their device most WMA (Windows Media Audio) files using the OverDrive Media Console v.3.2.

To determine if a WMA title will be compatible with your Apple® device, go to the Digital Rights Information in the complete title entry.  The permissions will be listed there.  You can also look for the "Plays on iPod" icon (shown above).  Additionally, your device must be Windows®-formatted for the WMA files to play on it.

For more on OMC v3.2, click here, or if you are new to the downloading process, check out our slide show.

When the Library (Building) Is Closed

Even though the doors of the library will be closed from August 16 - 23 due to a drop in State funding, our Web site will be up and running.  All the online tools and resources that you're used to will continue to be available.

The Library Catalog   Although no items will be due the week we are closed you can still check your account and renew items.  You can also request items, but they will not be processed until Monday, August 24.  This is also true of items requested through interlibrary loan using Ohio Libraries Share MORE.

Digital Collection  Download your books while we're closed, and music and videos, too.  If you haven't tried it before, start with this slide show.

Know It Now  If you find yourself with a question that you need the help of a reference librarian to answer, you can make use of this live online information service provided by the State Library of Ohio, Wright Library, and other public libraries.

Databases  All the Library's online resources will still be accessible from your home computer, allowing you to do research of all sorts, find newspaper and magazine articles, and for students and parents preparing for the beginning of school.  Search multiple databases at the Ohio Web Library.

What Do You Want to Read? Maybe you forgot to stock up for the week, or you just want to find a great read.  Use the resources listed on this page to find ideas and recommendations.  Return to the Library with a list books you want to read.

Get and stay involved with Wright Library with our Blogs, Facebook, Newsletters Teen MySpace.

Online Jazz

This post is for all our listeners of Jazz and for anyone interested in exploring the genre.  Music is everywhere on the Web and a good deal of it is Jazz.  Here we list some best sites we've come across for exploring the music, the artists, and the history of Jazz.  Where do you go to get your Jazz fix?

Listen to some Jazz while you're here courtesy of Jamendo where artists allow anyone to download and share their music.
