April Is National Poetry Month
To celebrate National Poetry Month we are again offering poetry related trivia for your entertainment and edification.  We have also gathered a collection of online Poetry Resources for you. 

Also this month is the opportunity to participate in the two part class, Poetry:  A Short Course.  This workshop focusing on poetry appreciation and the practice of writing will be led by award winning poet, Grace CurtisPart One of the course will be held Sunday, April 21st and Part Two on Sunday, April 28th.  Both will run from 2:00-4:00 p.m.   This two-part class is free and will be held in the Library Meeting Room.  Advance registration is required and limited to 15 participants age 16 or older. A Literary Weekend
Come to the library this weekend for two literary events.

Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m.

Join the Wright Library Poets for an afternoon of poetry.  The Wright Library Poets will read from their own work, followed by an open mic for anyone who wishes to share original work or a favorite poem. 

Sunday, January 27th at 2:00 p.m.

Local author Joanne Yeck will discuss her most recent book, The Jefferson Brothers.  In The Jefferson Brothers Joanne Yeck introduces Randolph Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson's only brother, and brings him out from the shadow of his famous sibling, focusing on the years during which their paths crossed.

Books will be available for purchase and a book signing willfollow.

NOVEMBER 1, 2012
Book Signing with David Lee Garrison
Join local poet, David Lee Garrison Sunday, November 4th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room.  Mr. Garrison will be reading and signing his new book of poems, Playing Bach in the DC Metro.

Dr. Garrison, a retired Wright State Professor, is a frequent poetry workshop presenter.  His poems have appeared in many publications and have been featured on Garrison Keillor’s radio program, The Writer’s Almanac.  He is also the author of Sweeping the Cemetery (Browser Books) and co-editor of the anthology O Taste and See: Food Poems.
