Gardens are producing and it's time to take advantage of local offerings.  Here are some resources for finding locally produced food and for producing your own.

Miami Valley Grown:  Local Food Initiative led by the
Montgomery County Extension Office

The Ohio State University Extension provides a wealth of information on growing and preparing food in the
Ohioline database.

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association offers a Good Earth Guide to Ohio Organic Farms and Gardens. 

Ohio Proud, a program of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, has a Farmers' Market Directory.

Now We're Cookin'
Here at the library we love food.  Almost anything is an excuse to eat and we even make up reasons.  With the availability of recipes on the Internet we'll never run out of ideas for what to make.  Here are some of our favorite Web sites for food.  Tell us what you think by leaving a comment.

CHOW - The name says it.

Cooksrecipes.com - This site includes a cooking dictionary and cookbook reviews.
 
Epicurious.com - The online home of Gourmet and Bon Appetit magazines

The Food Network - All the deliciousness from all those food programs on one Web site.

RecipeSource - Organized by ethnicity as well as by type of dish.

VegCooking - Vegetarian recipes and more!
