The Big Read 2010
Join in the 2010 Dayton, community-wide reading event, The Big Read, by reading Dreamers of the Day by Mary Doria Russell.  Numerous events are planned, including a visit by the author, book discussions, awards, and a teen writing contest.

Wright Library will host two discussions.  The first will take place on Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. in the Library's meeting room.  The second will be part of our On-the-Road at Starbucks Book Club and will be held Tuesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Starbucks in Oakwood.  Additional book discussions will be held at other locations.

Mary Doria Russell will be in Dayton on Saturday, April 10 at Books & Co. at The Greene at 1:00 p.m. She will discuss Dreamers of the Day and sign books.  Later that same day there will be a light dinner and a celebration of the book and author at the Dayton Masonic Center Ballroom at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets will be $15 and are available in advance at Wright Library.  For more information on these and other events, visit the Big Read Web site.

Also part of the Big Read is a Teen Writing contetst.  Open to teens in grades 9-12 the deadline for submissions is Friday, March 19, 2010 with prizes to be awarded at the Big Read Gala on Saturday, April 10, 6:30 p.m., at the Dayton Masonic Center.  Guidelines and entry forms are available at the Library.
