Economic Stimulus Package

The recently announced Economic Stimulus Package has stimulated questions as well as excitement. IRS has put together an Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center to help answer those questions.

To receive a payment, taxpayers must have a valid Social Security number, $3,000 of income, and file a 2007 federal tax return. More Basic Information.

For individuals who normally do not file taxes, the IRS has created a Package 1040A-3, Information About Economic Stimulus Payments for Social Security, Veterans, and Other Beneficiaries. This packet includes an informational notice, tips for completing Form 1040A, a sample Form 1040A, and an actual Form 1040A for the filer to complete.
