Holy Cross/Forest View Cemetery (the “new cemetery”) on Mishicot Road is the site of the area’s new armed forces memorial.
The family of Army Specialist Shaun Novak, along with hundreds of family, friends and
supporters, dedicated a memorial sculpture and related site furnishings and landscaping within the large oval at the entrance to the cemetery.
The community of Two Rivers is honored to have its cemetery as the site for this special
memorial. The memorial’s centerpiece, a bronze sculpture of a kneeling soldier, by Milwaukee artist Tom Queoff, is placed on a stone base in the midst of the oval.
The formal dedication took place Saturday, September 6, 2008, near the second anniversary of Specialist Novak’s death in Iraq August 27, 2006. The memorial is intended to honor all members of the U.S. Armed Forces—hometown heroes like Shaun Novak, who have served in the past or are serving today, protecting our liberties and American way of life.
