Many people come to the library with questions about the history of their house: the families who lived there, what they did, the changes made throughout the years. So we asked the Registrar of Deeds for Sullivan County if she would help us answer some of these questions. Please join us on Thursday, October 18 to learn the ins and outs of deed research. Sharron King will explain how to search for deeds dating from 1827 to the present, either by using the Sullivan County online database or by searching records at the Registry office. She will also discuss the fire of 1885, which harmed Volumes 1- 150, and her efforts to preserve what remains.
