Mask Making at the Library
Two kids and their Grandma show off their new masks, made during a crafty Tuesday afternoon at the library.  Children (and their adult companions!) used a wide variety of supplies to decorate masks to be used for Halloween.   After-school craft activities are offered two or three afternoons each month.  Come in and pick up a children's program calendar or look for events on our website under Youth Services.

House History Visit to the Sullivan County Registry of Deeds

In a workshop organized by the Richards Free Library, Registrar Sharron King presented an engaging and informative workshop covering the ins and outs of deed registry. Focusing on how to research the deed to a specific property, both onsite and online, Ms. King also explained the registry process. Included was a history of her efforts to archivally preserve Sullivan County deeds, and participants had the chance to view documents that were damaged in the fire of 1885. It is clear that Sharron King is dedicated to preserving the documents under her care, as well as making them as accessible to the public as possible.
