Information Glow
One of the things we do at the library is answer people's questions. The variety of questions has us looking up answers in books on our shelves, searching the Internet or calling a local expert on the phone. I know how good it makes us feel to send people on their way with just the information they needed. All of the librarians enjoy helping people with their questions. I just never thought about the good feeling our customers get when their questions are answered. The other day I was taking my walk on a road that follows the ridgeline behind my house. I had stopped to look at the beautiful view of the White Mountains across the river in New Hampshire, when a gentleman came along and pointed to one snow covered peak in the distance. "That's Mount Washington," he said. What a gift he gave me. This little piece of information changed my walk. I now try to find Mount Washington whenever I walk the ridgelines around my home, but it's a lot harder with out the pointing finger of my neighbor. So, come into the library, or call us or send us an e-mail and ask us those questions. We can both get an information glow.
