Storytimes for Babies? You Bet!

"Even if you get nothing else accomplished today, you have done something wonderful for your baby by being here!"

This is how I often start Baby Time. It's 20 minutes of early literacy skills cleverly disguised as play for the 0-2 year-old crowd. Songs, rhymes, stories, scarves and bells are just part of the fun. We also learn how to share, put our toys away and communicate. Parents and caregivers not only bond with their children but get to share experiences and talk to other grown-ups!

Baby Time is my favorite time of day. Visit your Jeffco library for Baby Time and make it your favorite time as well! Please see our Story Time Schedule for times and branch locations. We hope to see you soon!

I LOVE baby time! I started attending when Eli was 3 months old to provide Eli (and myself) with literacy skills and a fun outing. I also use the songbook at home to provide Eli with additional literacy instruction and to have a wider array of songs and rhymes to share with Eli. I really appreciate all of the great ideas I learn at baby time and am certain that in time Eli will look forward to this outing just as much as I do!

Lana! I remember you from the New Mother's group. I was so glad when you brought Eli. Sometimes I think Mom's of the infants don't think Baby Time is for them, but they absorb so much...the music, the rhythm and movement. Plus it is so wonderful for the Caregiver's to get out and meet others with babies. It is truly the best part of my day to teach this class!
