Did you know that floods were the natural disaster that caused the highest number of deaths and most costly property damage in the 20th century? We all need water to survive but sometimes it can be deadly. CNN reported the current flood along the Mississippi River could cause $5 billion in losses. There are many different kinds of floods. The most common is regional, for example, floods related to ice melt or hurricanes. Other types of floods include flash floods, ice-jam floods, storm-surge floods, dam-failure floods, and debris, landslide, and mudflow floods.
