- The moon has only 16% of the gravitational pull as the Earth
- The moon is thought to have been formed when a Mars sized lump of rock hit the Earth 4.5 billion years ago
- Mainly, only one side of the moon ever faces the earth
- There are traces of helium, neon, hydrogen and argon in the Moon's atmosphere.
- The average surface temperature of the moon is -9.4 degrees Fahrenheit
