Science Saturday - Eye Controlled Television

Forget hunting for the remote, there is a new invention for eye controlled television.  Haier has released Gaze T.V., a television that can be controlled by staring at parts of the screen.  Similar to the Wii, the Gaze has a sensor that will detect eye movement.  The idea of gaze controlled technology is not new.  Tobii originally developed the software to assist disabled people in working computers.  Do you think this will take off or is it just another interesting gadget like the Auto Speaker invented in 1931?  From the advertisement for Auto Speaker: "With this novel microphone arrangement you can hail your friends on the street."

Learn more about the Haier Gaze T.V.
