Earlier this year, Jefferson County Public Library partnered with Active Minds for Life to provide a forum for patrons to learn more about issues that are at the forefront of both national and global concern. On Monday, May 5, "Beyond the Headlines" continues with a look at the history of immigration in the U.S., our current immigration policy and the proposed changes recommended by President Bush and others, including tighter border controls and a guest worker program.
Join us for a discussion about the economics and politics behind U.S. immigration policy and how these issues are viewed by different constituencies.
This free program will be held from 7-8 p.m., Monday, May 5, at the
Belmar Library, located at 555 S. Allison Parkway in Lakewood. It is sponsored by the Jefferson County Public Library Foundation and Friends.
Please let us know what your thoughts, concerns and visions are regarding U.S. immigration policy.
