Belmar Library closing for renovations
Belmar Library will soon undergo renovations to provide patrons with convenient self-service options and improved access to materials and resources in one of our busiest libraries. The library will close at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 and reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.

Enhancements will include eight self-check units; a holds pickup area; additional shelving to house the library’s extensive collection; and six new patron computers, bringing the total to 49.

The Friends Gift and Book Shop, located inside the Belmar Library, will also be closed during renovations. To celebrate Belmar Library’s reopening, Friends is holding a "Beluga" of a Used Book Sale in both the Belmar meeting room and the Friends Gift and Book Shop. We'll be giving away a large stuffed Beluga and offering some great promotions. Shop on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 17 from noon-4 p.m

During the closure, Belmar Library patrons can use any of our nine other locations. Exterior book drops will remain open, and patrons can drop off book donations between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily during the closure.

What if one of my book holds (for Belmar) becomes available during the closure?

The free tax assistance scheduled to take place in the Library meeting room will be provided at the Link Recreation Center, 1265 S. Reed St. during the renovation. That site will be open Feb. 4, 6, 11 and 13 from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
