Join us for Lakewood Library’s reopening and 30th anniversary celebration

After closing for 12 weeks for remodeling and renovations, the Lakewood Library is nearly ready to reopen!

Please mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 24; join Lakewood staff members as we celebrate 30 years as part of the Lakewood community and showcase our new look. Celebrations begin with a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. followed by an open house from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Festivities include live music, refreshments, children’s storytimes and face painters.

We think you’ll enjoy the library’s enhanced features, including improved self-service options, new layout, more computers, café with hot and cold vending machines, expanded and improved children’s room, dedicated area for teens and more room for popular materials, DVDs and magazines.

See you on Aug. 24!

R U the same Julie Ann Peters that wrote Keeping you a secret? And that is going to visit the library in Oct? I saw that on the Friends calendar and just about flipped out! I am going to make all my friends, gay and straight, go to see you talk since you understand how hard it can be to be different.

Per the question about the vending machines, by hot and cold vending machines, we are referring to the new hot coffee and cold soda machines located in the café.
