Anya's War by Andrea Alban

Did you know that Jews fled to Shanghai during the Holocaust? This book is a treasure about just such a Jewish family. Anya Rosen is the main, curly-headed, character. Over a few days, she learns that the war may not only be happening in countries far away, but in her own home as well. When will peace come?
And have you ever wondered where the phrase "Oy vey" came from? Have you ever wanted to know what it was like to have a bomb drop practically on top of you and yet live? Or maybe you've wondered how exactly one takes parakeets for a walk. Find the answers to all these questions and more in "Anya's War".

"Me And Earl And The Dying Girl" by Jesse Andrews

Rating: Good (4)

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl follows Greg, a high school student whose goal in high school is to be liked by everyone. When Greg's mother forces him to befriend a family friend recently diagnosed with leukaemia his life changes. It should be known that this book is not your typical cancer book. Although it is doubtful that Me and Earl and the Dying Girl will make you cry, it will definitely make you laugh.

"IDrakula" by Bekka Black

Rating: Just Okay (3)

IDrakula by Bekka Black

"iDrakula" by Bekka Black is a modern take on a classic-Dracula. It's told through texts, emails, images, and web browser screenshots. It's obvious almost immediately what's going on. iDrakula is a very fast read, even for a 150 page book, and is very fast paced. Because of this, I never really got into the story and didn't feel any connection to the characters. It was a good story, but I think it could hae been told better if it included an actual story, not just texts and emails. Overall, iDrakula was an okay book.

"Stormbreaker" by Anthony Horowitz

Rating: Excellent! (5)

Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz

Alex Rider thought he knew his uncle, Ian Rider. But in reality he hardly knew him at all. When Ian Rider gets killed in a car crash, Alex is immediately suspicious of his cause of death. Alex is proved right when he discovers bullet holes in the car. Why would anyone want to kill a bank worker? Well, maybe Ian Rider wasn't a bank worker at all. Maybe he was actually a spy for Britain's secret intelligence agency. Alex is only mildly surprised when he learns this, although, he is very surprised when he learns the same agency wants to recruit him in a dangerous mission only he can complete....
Complete with thrilling scenes, action, mystery, and adventure, Stormbreaker is an exciting book that I highly recommend.

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Have you read Embraced; Enticed; Hush, Hush; or Unearthly? Then you should probably read Halo. In a ploy to reinstate humanity's trust in itself, Heaven has sent down three angels to watch over Venus Cove, a seemingly random American small town. But when Gabriel, Ivy, and Bethany arive, they notice a strange shift in everyday life: freak accidents, murders, and fires. Bethany must keep her head in the game, but when she meets Xavier Woods, her whole life changes. To fall in love with a human is an incredible sin, and to reveal the existance of angels is even worse; like, cast-from-Heaven bad. With all this stress, another problem arises: the appearance of a troubled English boy by the name of Jake, who seems to have a dark secret. Will Bethany be cast down for her sins? Can she and her family save Venus Cove? Find out today! Read Halo!

"Undeadly" by Michele Vail

Rating: Good (4)

Undeadly by Michele Vail

In a world where zombies are not only real, but people can make a job out of them, Molly Bartolucci is normal. She's just a ka heka, the most common of Anubis's servants, and she had a normal life. That is, until the night of her sixteenth birthday, when the god of death himself came to her in an Anubis dream and imparted special powers and a message that she would do great things. What does that mean? At first she thought it was a dream, until someone dies at her party... and she brings him back to life! It only gets weirder when her mother's parents, whom she's never met, come to spirit her away to an expensive boarding school for especially (rich) gifted kids. When wierd stuff starts happening at her new school, Molly is in the middle of it. Read Undeadly, the first of the Reaper Diaries, to find out what happens!

"Three Days Grace" by Three Days Grace

Rating: Excellent! (5)

Three Days Grace by Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace's first album which is self titled lives up to what my expectations were and above. With hits such as 'Home' and 'I Hate Everything About You', the dynamic album shows the dynamics of not only lead singer Adam Gontier's voice, but also the skills and raw emotion of the band as a whole. The album is a definite success, and that is why I rate it a 5.
