In this book the main charactor Percy Jackson must save his camp of Roman demigods by defeating an evil army of monsters and unchaining Death himself. This book is based off of Rick Riordan's bestselling "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" and is the second book in the series "Heroes of Olympus". I give this book three thumbs up!
This movie is about a stepsister being bossed around by her stepmom, stepsister, and stepbrother. Katie, the main character, is Cinderella in this case. Her stepsister is not talented enough to sing for the Showcase so her stepmother makes her sing for her stepsister or her dreams of going to college are gone. When someone she likes sees that her stepsister is lipsyncing, they think it is actually her singing. Cinderella always ends in a happy ending just like this movie.

Nepenthe, an orphan transcriptor in the great library of Raine, has a gift for deciphering extinct languages. Everything she thinks she knows changes when the mage Bourne innocently gives her a book with a language of thorns that speaks to her heart. While Nepenthe is entangled deeper in the thorns' story, the kingdom above her is awakened by whatever evil they bring. The new, untried, young Queen of Raine faces rebellion, Nepenthe's love Bourne is accused of treason, and Nepenthe is no longer the orphan she thought. "Alphabet of Dreams" is a good book with wonderful literary skill in each sentence, but the story itself is sometimes confusing. Overall, this book is good, not great, but enjoyable.
Winter Rose by Patricia A. McKillip Winter Rose by Patricia A. McKillip
Rating: Good (4)
In this mixed retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" and "Tam Lin", you meet Rois. She's a wild beauty, living near woods that are supposedly under a forgotten curse, when the estate's heir abruptly returns. Corbet Lynn's origins are as mysterious as himself. Rois can think of nothing else but saving this stranger she loves from his grandfather's curse, while her engaged sister Laurel can think of nothing but Corbet. Patricia McKillip's writing is elegant and intriguing, and you will bite your nails over the love mix-ups. But beware: the ending is not quite what one would expect.
