The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Rating: Good (4)

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a pretty good book. It is about a boy named Charlie, and his first year of high school. The book is written in the form of letters from Charlie to someone. You never actually find out who that someone is, but through the letters you learn a lot about Charlie. In his letters he doesn't only tell about his challenges throughout his freshman year, he also writes about his childhood, both good times and bad. In his freshman year, Charlie finds some friends, dates for the first time, tries drugs, and starts smoking. He also discovers who he is, and what made him who he is. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a good book, and I would definitely recommend it.

Fearless by Francine Pascal

Rating: Excellent! (5)

Fearless by Francine Pascal

Gaia Moore is definitely not your regular high school girl. She's a master at three different martial arts, has amazing reflexes, and can break codes in four languages. But that's not all. Gaia is also missing the fear gene. She's never afraid. She doesn't know what fear feels like. Gaia's mom is dead, and her father abandoned her. She lives with one of her dad's CIA friends in New York. There are crimes in the park where Gaia plays chess. She's not afraid of them, but soon it's clear that Gaia is being targeted.
Fearless by Francine Pascal is a great book about a girl who's more than just a little different. She's awkward in any social situation, and her mouth has no filter. Will Gaia be able to survive New York, and will she make friends trying to do it? Read Fearless to find out.

The Naming by Allison Croggon

Rating: Good (4)

The first book of a fantastic series. It's a little thicker and harder to understand, but it's still a great book. A small little slave girl with a 'witches eye' can cause small mishaps on the farm isn't the end of the world.. but when she finds a mysterious stranger hiding in the hay she finds she has more potential than she could ever have imagined. So begins a journey to find out her past, guide her powers, and defeat evil forces. Being a Bard isn't as glamorous as it looks, but a stubborn spirit can make it. I've read the entire series twice because they're just that good. Once you start reading The Naming, you won't be able to put it down!

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Rating: Terrible! (1)

There is much conflict over this simple book. From where I stand it is viewed as a joke to serious authors. Silly romance in a ridiculous setting. Silly romances are fine to kill a few hours, but then to throw in a sparkling vampire is just too much. After I finished reading it I thought to myself, 'what did I just read?'. The very little idea of a plot was dragged out for almost 500 pages. It was a complete waste of time.
