This book was an enchanting tale of forbidden love. Ethan is an ordinary high school boy who is still recovering from his mother's death a year ago. Lena just moved in with her uncle, the town outcast. She is automatically shunned, but Ethan is drawn to her. As he finds out the truth about her he too is drawn into the mystery and adventure of her family. this is one of the best books ever!
The Hollow by Jessica Verday is a great book. It takes place in Sleepy Hollow. And yes, it's the same Sleepy Hollow as in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."? Abbey's best friend, Kristen, disappeared a little more than two months ago, and now they're holding her funeral. Abbey has to deal with this, in addition to going back to school. Her only comfort is the cemetery, where she talks to Washington Irving. She meets a boy named Caspian and an old man named Nikolas. They, along with Nicolas's wife Katy, became Abbey's only friends. However Caspian, Nikolas, and Katy are not who they seem to be. Who are they? Read The Hollow to find out.
Vacations From Hell is a great book. It is a collection of five stories about supernatural vacations that make lost luggage and sunburns seem like great vacations. From a teenage witch whose worst enemy is a snobby witch, to a group of tourists who confront the devil is Eastern Europe, this book has a variety of supernatural stories. And only one story involves vampires, so don't make a hatred of Twilight make you skip this great read.
The third installment of the Nightshade series is just as good if not better than the rest. Calla, a guardian that can turn from human to wolf whenever she wants, has to prepare along with Ren and Shay, also guardians for the impending war that will free her and exile the keepers for good. To read this book, you definetly need to read the previous two. If you enjoy a love triangle, this is an enjoyable, light read that will definetly keep your intrest.
Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder is a book in verse. It is also a sort of diary, alternating between the point of view of Brooklyn and Nico. Lucca died a year ago. Jackson died six months before that. Now Gabe is dead. Lucca was Brooklyn's boyfriend and Nico's brother. Now, with Gabe dead, they are both being haunted, Brooklyn by Gabe and Nico by Lucca. They must help each other learn to live again while training for a triathlon, which is a big part of their healing. I thought I wouldn't like this book because it is written in verse, but I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this book.
Paranormalcy is an exellent young adult book. The book is about a lonley teenage girl named Evie that lives in a place called International Paranormal Containment Agency or IPCA. As a young girl she was passed on to foster home to foster home with no real family. A woman named Raquel takes her in and she now works as a Bag-and-Tagger. (Meaning she tags the supernatural so none interfere with humans and so humans don't know they coexist)Her Ex-boyfriend is after her, she falls for an adorable shapeshifter, her best friend is a mermaid, and a mysterious supernatural is killing the other paranormals. Will she ever have a normal life as a regular teenage girl?
City of Bones is the best book I have ever read! It tells the story of Jace, a shadowhunter, and Clary, a "mundane" that can see shadowhunters. This book has many unexpected turns that makes the story interesting. The series is addictive!
