Law Forms for Personal Use Available!
How many times have you moaned, "We should have put it in writing!"  If you use one of our library reference resources, 101 Law Forms for Personal Use (7th ed., 2009),  by Attorneys  Ralph Warner & Robin Leonard, you may never say this again.

This book isn't meant to replace lawyers or legal advice.  It does provide over 100 commonly-used contracts for everyday purposes such as a child or elder care agreement,  sale of a dog, personal property rental agreement and  home repair contractor agreement, to name only a few.

Putting your agreements in  ink can save you money, time and frustration. According to the authors, a well-drafted contract is far easier to enforce than an oral agreement, should there be disputes.  The CD-Rom that accompanies the book allows the user to download and print the contract forms, so you'll never again have to complain, "We should have put it in writing!"

Legos, Legos, Legos
We want your Lego® and Duplo® blocks!  Please consider donating building blocks in all shapes and sizes to the library @Wausau.  We promise that we will be kind to them and let lots of children play and learn with them.

A regular Lego Club and other special events for children with Lego and Duplo blocks is in the planning.   Unfortunately we have one rather big problem; we have no blocks.

Lego and Duplo blocks can be dropped off at the main desk, in Children's,  or at the library drive-thru all hours that the library is open.

Please help us out and donate some today.  We, and the kids in Marathon County thank you.

My Story, Your Story
Have you or a member of your family ever dreamed of being a writer?  Then don’t miss hearing nationally recognized author,  Marion Dane Bauer on Tuesday, October 25, 6:30pm at the John Muir Middle School auditorium in Wausau.  “My Story, Your Story:  Creating Stories Together” is a free, family-friendly presentation blending short readings from some of her books with tips for beginning writers.

Marion Dane Bauer has written 81 books, receiving a Newbery Honor Award for her book, On My Honor in 1987.  She has written books ranging from baby board books and picture books, to novels for tweens and teens, and books on writing for young people.

Her books will be available at the event for purchase, courtesy of Janke Book Store.  The Marathon County Public Library is providing a free writers journal, which will be given to the first 200 children and teens who attend this event.   Ms. Bauer will be happy to autograph these journals and copies of her books.

Her appearance in Wausau is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Valley Library Service, Wausau School District, and the Marathon County Public Library.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear a real author, and perhaps get started on a new career yourself!
