Events at Your Library!

October is a big month for us here at the Marathon County Public Library!  Take a moment to check out our events calendar to see what's going on in your area.

This week we have the Athens Almost Beyond Description Program at 12:00pm on Thursday October 4th in the Athens Fire Hall meeting room.  At this program you will get firsthand accounts of people who have passed through Wisconsin.

Next week on October 10th in Edgar you have the opportunity to attend "Fighting the Flames," a re-creation of firefighting as it was shown at the World's Fair and midways from 1904-1907.  This event starts at 2:00pm at the Edgar branch of the library.

October 14-20 is Teen Read Week!  Events and games geared towards teens will be going on all week!  Check out the events calendar to find out more about it!

October 16th there is a special opportunity at the Stratford branch.  Author C.J. Hribal will be speaking on his book The Company Car.  This event starts at 1:00pm and is open to the public.

Remember to check out the events calendar every so often so you don't miss out on the fun!!

Passports

Apply for your passport at the Marathon County Public Library, Wausau Headquarters Library .

The time for processing a routine passport application has returned to 6-8 weeks,  and 3 weeks for expedited passports.

Effective October 1,  all U.S citizens traveling by air to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda must present a valid passport to enter or depart from the United States.

Customers who have applied for passports will receive two mailings from U.S. Passport Services--the issued passport and a separate return mailing of submitted citizenship documents, such as birth certificates.  These mailings may occur days apart from each other.

The Marathon County Public Library is happy to answer any and all passport questions at 715-261-7230.  Applications are accepted all hours that the Library is open. View the Library's open hours here.
