Pushback Against Drug Abuse Programs!
Over the past three years, drug abuse has become a major problem in Marathon County.  Accordingly, the Marathon County Public Library has partnered with the Marathon County Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Partnership and the Pushback Against Drug Abuse campaign to host an educational series of programs in October to raise awareness of the scope of the problem and detail how each us can play a part in the solution.

The following sessions will be offered at the Marathon County Public Library in the 3rd Floor Wausau Room. Interested parties can attend either the daytime (Wednesdays 12-1:30pm) or evening (Tuesdays 5:30-7pm) sessions on a given week.

Session 1 – What’s Hot Now? – Current drug trends that are impacting Marathon County. Offered Tuesday October 8th at 5:30pm & Wednesday October 9th at 12:00pm.

Session 2 – I Think We Have a Problem! – How to identify if someone is using or dealing drugs, and how to safely intervene. Offered Tuesday October 15th at 5:30pm & Wednesday October 16th at 12:00pm.

Session 3 – The ‘A’ Word, Now What? – The power of addiction, relapse, and local treatment options. Offered Tuesday October 22nd at 5:30pm & Wednesday October 23rd at 12:00pm.

Session 4- It Takes a Village! – All levels of the community play a role in prevention, treatment, enforcement and recovery to address this growing epidemic. Offered Tuesday October 29th at 5:30pm & Wednesday October 30th at 12:00pm.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided at all sessions.
